Short Biography

Fernando Vannier Borges holds a PhD in Communication Studies from Université Panthéon-Assas (Paris II), a Master Degree in Communication and Journalism from University of Coimbra and a Degree in Comunication and Journalism from Universidade Federal do Rio de Janeiro. Currently, he is a full-time researcher at University of Coimbra and a Professor at Lusófona University. Previous experience includes a science manager position and teaching in Cape Verde.

His current interests are Science Communication and the social outreach of research projects. With publications on the nexus of Communication and Sport, his work has deepened into the economical and symbolical elements of the media-sport spectacle, namely by the creation of football club’s own media channels.
